Labor Doula Services

My desire as your labor doula is to empower you with the knowledge of how capable you are and the choices you have regarding the birth of your baby. I help you prepare for labor and birth by providing you with resources and information to make informed decisions. I also provide caring emotional and physical support throughout your labor and birth.

I provide:

  • Two prenatal visitsIMG_1091: What are your feelings about labor?
    • Labor pain and coping strategies.
    • Risks/benefits of various procedures.
    • Designing a birth plan.
    • Discussion of postpartum adjustment and expectations.
  • Physical support during active labor
    • Relaxation techniques
    • Massage
    • Positioning
    • Help in communication with your care providers.
  • I will remain with you for up to two hour after birth and will help you initiate breastfeding.
  • Two postpartum visits and 24 hour phone support for up to two weeks postpartum.
